This reads from Persephone’s perspective: “What? You think that I do not want to be here. But you are mistaken. I love the Underworld. Do you not see its beauty? Ah! Of course you can’t! You look at my world with eyes filled with light. Turn off that light then look again. See the beauty in darkness. See its wondrousness. It is here in the Underworld that my Soul is replenished and deepened so that it does not dry out in the light. Change your perception then you will no longer want to save me–nor will you mourn when I return here.
